Bucks sweep Farwell, Beavers roll, Clare romps

ROSCOMMON – Former Hillsdale College linebacker, Coach Rodney Patterson has taken over the reigns at the helm of the Roscommon varsity baseball program. The Bucks had toiled in the JPC cellar the past few springs. There are fresh new athletes, but most noticeable is Coach Patterson’s tenacious and zealous intensity. His enthusiastic passion for the game and the close attention to the fundamental nuances have invigorated and enhanced the Bucks style of play. Coach Patterson ordered the RHS pep band to play during warm-ups. He brought in mega large speakers for in between feel good music. He asked the Roscommon Booster Club to give out free hot dogs and chips to eat and bottled water to drink. The crowd of Rosco loyalists was vast and scattered all along the fence lines. The Buck ballers didn’t disappoint as their engines were fully firing on all cylinders and they rocked visiting Farwell, 14-6 and 10-1 to record a sweep and send the Rosco faithful home satisfied from their baseball celebration last Tuesday.
