G-Town Run Around 5K

GLADWIN – On July 21st the Paul Graveline family regime conducted the 3rd Annual G-Town Run Around 5K Run/Walk. 97 people participated in the 5K from ages 6-80. After a competitor crossed the finish they could drink gatorade or water to rehydrate. They also had apples and bananas to replenish nutrients. There was also a short small kids obstacle course/run. “My family and I are extremely grateful to all the participants, volunteers and sponsors that made the race a success. We always look forward to a fun, family friendly event and this year was no different.  We are already looking forward to next year’s race,” exclaimed Mary Ann (Graveline) Duffy.

Jacob Greer, 15, of Midland was the overall champion of the race with his time of 18:12. 34 year old from Midland Chris Swiecicki tallied a 19:42 to garner the 2nd overall spot. Brent Edgerton of Gladwin compiled a 20:41 to earn the 3rd overall time, a fantastic run considering he’s 50. 

Gladwin’s Alicia Mead was the overall female champ as she tallied a 21:56. Carrie Jones of Gladwin ran a 23:28 to finish as the female runner-up. Gladwin’s girls varsity basketball coach, Emily Cote finished with a time of 25:09 to earn the 3rd overall female spot.

In the 19-29 year old Male division, the victor, Vincent Raineri recorded a 22:57 to garner 11th place overall. Gladwin’s Andrew Earls was runner-up in this class with a time of 25:40. Michael Martin of Beaverton was 3rd in this division with his tally of 25:47. 

The 19-29 year old Female division champion was Shelley Kuhn of Sanford with her run of 25:41. Kassandra Taube of Gladwin recorded a 31:49 to earn the runner-up spot in this division. Kali Partaka ran a 35:43 to collect 3rd.

In the Male 30-39 division, Ben Furrow blazed for a triumph with a finishing time of 22:05. Rusty Edick pushed a baby stroller for giggles and ran a 23:35 to edge Clint Kern who finished 3rd with his tally of 23:50. 

Vreni Graveline was the victor in the Female 30-39 year old division with her run of 27:25. Melissa Robinson tabulated a 28:12 to earn runner-up. Shannon Zelt galloped in for 3rd in this division with her race of 29:40.

Chris James compiled a swift finish featuring a time of 21:42 to triumph in the 40-49 year old Male division. Richard Greer was the runner-up with his excellent time of 22:19. Angelo Dariero tallied a time of 26:02 to collect 3rd place in this bracket.

Theresa Michalski emerged victorious for the 40-49 year old Female division with her finishing time of 25:23. Michelle Thom was right behind her with a finish of 25:57. Michelle Parker gathered the 3rd place spot with a time of 30:41. 

59 year old of Gladwin, Howard Sweeney compiled a blistering time of 21:34 to victor in the 50-99 Male division. Jeff Vore was the runner-up with his time of 23:04. Michael Greer ran a 23:36 to earn 3rd. 

Peggie Miller won the female 50-99 division with a time of 25:24. Daleen Siegert was runner-up with a 26:32. Jeff Tenwalde and Renee Tenwalde won the walking division as they crossed with a 38:16.

Tyler Jean and Breanna Mead won the 16U divisions with spectacular finishing times of 21:13 and 26:31 respectively.
