JUNIOR G’S PUT ON A SHOW, SMASH RECORDS

The girls track team put forth great effort as they ran well into the evening at the conference meet in Roscommon on May 15th. This meet consisted of all eight teams from our conference. The entire team did well and many team bests were set including two more school records. At this meet medals were awarded to the top three places in each event and relay.
Earning sixth place finishes were; Kelsey McIntosh in the long jump (11’9”), Lindsey Shearer in the 200 meter hurdles (34.93), and Gabriella Ries in the 800 (2:49.62).
Placing fifth were; Katelyn Grove and Makenzie Holnagel in the pole vault (6’ tie), Heather Beecher in the 200 (30.43), Erin Duby in the 1600 (6:40.43), and the 1600 meter relay team of Casey Bishop, Peyton Rellinger, Shearer and Ries (5:07.21).
Finishing fourth was McIntosh in the 55 meter hurdles (10.61).

Making their way to third place finishes were; Brieanna Howey in the long jump (12’2.5”), Katelyn Grove in the 3200 (14.27.21), Skylar Howard in the 400 (1:07.27), and the 3200 meter relay team of Bishop, Lydia Woodruff, Grove and Ries (12:40.78).
Second place finishes went to; Rellinger in the high jump (4’2”), Beecher in the pole vault (7’6”), and Pickard in the 400 (1:07.11).
Taking first place medals were; Shearer in the high jump (4’4”), and the 400 meter relay team of Sierra Jankowski, Lauren Mose, Howard, and Pickard (54.46). Also placing first and breaking school records were Mose in the 70 with a time of 9.48 and the 800 meter relay team of Jankowski, Mose, Howard, and Pickard with a time of 1:54.93.
The Gladwin Girls Junior High track team made the long journey to Breckenridge Friday, May 11th to compete in the Huskie Relays. The weather was warm and breezy and the competition was excellent, which many have contributed to the Lady G’s setting some of their best times and marks of the year, including two school records and two Huskie Relays meet records. The Relays played host to 12 different girls’ teams. In each individual event there were up to 24 competitors and for relays up to 12. Medals were awarded to the top eight teams or individuals in each event. The Gladwin girls did an excellent job as they ran their way to 21 medals and a forth place finish in the Gold Division.
Finishing eighth was the 1600 meter relay team of Casey Bishop, Gabriella Ries, Peyton Rellinger, and Heather Beecher (5:10.6).
Taking seventh place medals was the 3200 meter relay team of Bishop, Lydia Woodruff, Lindsey Shearer, and Ries (12:38.1).

Earning a sixth place finish with her best throw, up to this point, was Rebeka Greenwood in the shot put (27’).
Jumping to a fifth place finish with her best jump to date was Shearer in the high jump (4’6”).
Running their way to a third place finish was the 800 meter relay team of Sierra Jankowski, Makenzie Holnagel, Skylar Howard, and Brooke Pickard.
Taking second was Katelyn Grove in the pole vault (6’). Also finishing second and breaking the school record was Lauren Mose in the 100 meter dash with a time of 13.33.
Finishing first and setting the new Huskie Relays meet record in the 400 meter relay with a time of 54.4 was the relay team of Jankowski, Mose, Howard, and Pickard. Also breaking the Huskie Relays record and school record in the pole vault, with a vault of 8’6.5”, was Heather Beecher.

The Gladwin Boys Jr. High track team ran at Breckenridge on Friday. The boys ran well and finished 6th out of 12 teams. Finishing in second place was Drake Muma in the pole vault (9’). Third place went to Roger Willford in the pole vault with his best vault of the season (8’ 6”), the sprint medley relay team of Leroy Bouck, Terrance Trice, Drake Muma and Bryon Clarke (2:56), The 400 relay team of Terrance Trice, Drake Muma, Wade Muma and Bryon Clarke (51.5) which was their best time of the season. Finishing in fourth place was Roger Willford in the high jump with another one of his best performances (5’ 0”). The 800 relay team of Terrance Trice, Leroy Bouck, Dylan McDonlad and Bryon Clarke (1:49.1) was also fourth. The 3200 meter relay team of Roger Willford, Zach McCully, Dylan McDonald and Brice Bartels (10:38.6) was sixth as well as the 1600 meter relay team of Colin Pratt, Leroy Bouck, Brice Bartels and Zach McCully (4:29.3). Gladwin was 7th in the distance medley relay with the team of Brice Bartels, Colin Pratt, Hunter Schaaf and Zachary McCully.

The junior high JPC meet was held at Roscommon last night. Gladwin boys ran well and had some season best results. Taking first place was Drake Muma in the pole vault (9’ 9”) and the 800 meter relay team of Terrance Trice, Leroy Bouck, Dylan McDonald and Bryon Clarke (1:45.8) which were both season best results. Taking Second place was Bryon Clarke in the 200 meter dash with a time of 24.14 breaking the school record. Congratulations Bryon! Also taking second was Terrance Trice in the 70 meter dash (9.14) and the 400 relay team of Terrance Trice, Drake Muma, Wade Muma and Bryon Clarke (52.08). Third place was the 3200 relay team of Brice Bartels, Roger Willford, Dylan McDonald and Zach McCully (10:32.8).
